In line with the current trend to be more aware of how we can grow our own vegetables Andrew McLaren has decided to establish a 700 square foot vegetable garden on his East Wellington acreage.

Incorporating compost bins and a water butt to collect rainwater from an adjacent barn roof, the structure is all made of cedar.

Nothing tastes quite like produce you’ve planted and tended yourself, especially my favourite new potatoes swimmingd in butter (Mmmm!), so call me when they’re ready Andrew! :o)

Hello everyone!

Well, we are being treated to a mild winter on Vancouver Island thanks to El Nino, so we might as well get a jump on 2010 and get those fence projects out of the way early, so you can enjoy the benefit in the summer.
